About Inner Sound Press
Some people write books. Others publish them. Lucia Hodges does both, dedicating her Inner Sound Press publishing house to preserving, connecting, and illuminating enduring wisdom wherever it can be found.
For more than fifty years, Lucia has explored humanity’s search for meaning through academic inquiry, contemplative practice, and decades of living and serving in spiritual communities. With a background that includes graduate studies in science and ecology, professional experience in administration, and lifelong exploration of mystical traditions, she brings together perspectives that are often kept separate: scientific inquiry, spiritual experience, and wisdom preserved across cultures.
In retirement these experiences found expression in her writing. She published her first book in 2023, Rising Up into the Divine: World Mystics on the Ascent of Your Soul, followed by Spirals: Cosmic Bridges Between Dimensions. Both reflect her interest in exploring profound ideas through careful research and an accessible, thoughtful approach.
As she continued her own writing, long-forgotten spiritual works began to find their way to her. Lucia has lovingly restored these neglected gems of timeless wisdom, preparing new editions with forewords, historical notes, indexes, and other editorial features that help modern readers engage more deeply with the books. She sees each one as another piece in a stained-glass window—distinct in color and design, yet each contributing a unique ray of light to a larger picture of humanity’s spiritual inheritance.
